Tiger Purrtection- Ticket and Baggage Travel Insurance is available to domestic Tiger Airways passengers of all ages.International Tiger Purrtection Travel Insurance is available to all Tiger Airways passengers aged under 70 years old at the date of departure, who are either Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents.In addition, infants (below the age of 2) travelling with an Insured Adult Passenger are covered for free!
Tiger Purrtection Ticket & Baggage Protection - Australia Domestic
For Domestic trips throughout Australia (this includes Lord Howe Island, Cocos Islands
and Christmas Island).
All benefits and benefit amounts shown in this Policy are per Insured Person limits
payable in Australian dollars. In some cases sub-limits apply or the benefits may
not be available to You. For a summary of cover please see the details below.

Eligibility
To be eligibile for cover under this policy you must be:

Cover Summary
Reimburses costs up to $4,500 incurred on the cancellation or rescheduling of Your prepaid unused domestic Tiger Airways travel tickets due to unforeseen circumstances outside Your control such as sickness or accident, retrenchment, or strikes.
Cover Summary
Cover for costs incurred on repairing or replacing Checked Baggage lost, stolen or accidentally damaged whilst in the care of Tiger Airways. Please note: The maximum we will pay for any one item or set of items in any one event is $700, up to a maximum of $4,500 per person.Please note no cover applies for any baggage not in the custody of Tiger Airways at the time of loss, damage or theft.
Cover Summary
Cover for expenses up to $700 to resume Your original trip with our consent if it was interrupted unexpectedly due to the sudden Injury or illness, of You, Your Travelling Companion or a Relative or close business associate. This does not apply to one way tickets.
Please note: We will only pay for Your resumption of the Trip if the remaining duration of Your original Trip is more than 10 days and You recommence Your Trip within 60 days of Your early return home.
Cover Summary
Cover up to $700 for the cost of using alternative public transport for You to arrive
at Your destination on time, if You have to attend a prearranged wedding, funeral,
conference or sporting event which cannot be delayed due to Your late arrival and
the Trip was delayed due to unforeseeable circumstances outside Your control.
Cover Summary
$700 for each 24 hour period that You are held captive during Your Trip as a result
of the public transport on which You are travelling being hijacked. The maximum
period for which We will pay is 10 days.

Eligibility
To be eligible for cover under this policy You must be either an Australian citizen
or an Australian permanent resident, and aged under 70 years at the date of departure
for Your Trip. You must intend to return to Australia on completion of Your Trip
unless otherwise agreed in writing by Us.

Reimburses costs incurred on the cancellation or rescheduling of Your Trip due to
unforeseen circumstances outside Your control such as sickness or accident, retrenchment,
or strikes. This includes Travel Agents fees and Reimbursement for frequent flyer
points lost.

Cover for overseas medical, hospital, dental and other emergency expenses if You
became ill or suffered an injury during Your travel and, when agreed to by us, Your
early return to Australia for medical reasons. The maximum we will pay for emergency
overseas dental costs incurred for the relief of sudden and acute pain is $400,
or following an injury to sound and natural teeth is $2000.
Please note: No cover is provided for any pregnancy or related complication after
26 weeks of pregnancy, or childbirth after 26 weeks of pregnancy unless the childbirth
was accelerated by accidental Injury.

After 48 hours' hospitalisation overseas We will pay You $50 for each 24 hours You
are confined to a hospital bed for out-of-pocket expenses and other comforts to
a maximum of $2,000. This is in addition to Your medical and hospital costs.

emergency personal telephone calls if Your Trip is disrupted.

more than ten hours.

Cover for Your transport cost up to $3,000 to resume Your original Trip if You re-commence
it within 60 days of returning to Australia. You must have our agreement before
You decide to return home early. You must also provide Us with a letter from the
treating doctor to support Your claim that it was medically necessary or the condition
of the other person was serious enough to warrant Your early return home. Cover
does not apply to one way tickets.

Cover up to $8,000 for accidental loss, theft or damage to luggage including duty-free
purchases and loss or fraudulent use of credit cards. This section also allows for
the replacement of lost or stolen essential travel documents. Please note the following

Please note: A pair or set of items is treated as one item (e.g. a set of golf clubs,

Sporting Equipment is covered for loss or damage as part of Your luggage but is
not covered when in use. Items included are surfboards, boogie boards, skis, snowboards
and tennis racquets. Golf clubs are covered. We will also pay for the hire of replacement
golf clubs and ski gear in the event that Your equipment is delayed.

Provides a lump sum payment in the event of Your death as the result of an Injury
caused by an accident whilst travelling. This includes situations of disappearance
because Your means of transport has sunk or was wrecked. Please note: The accidental
death of an insured person less than 18 years of age is limited to cover of $10,000
each.

Protection for You being liable for injuring other persons or causing damage to
their property and, most importantly, Your legal expenses are included.

Rental car companies apply an excess in case of accident, damage or theft to the
rental vehicle during the rental period. This section provides cover for the excess
You are liable to pay to the rental car company. Please note that conditions and
exclusions apply to this cover. The hiring agreement must incorporate comprehensive
motor insurance against loss or damage to the rental vehicle.

If You cannot resume Your usual employment because of an injury overseas we will
pay up to $400 per week for a maximum period of 12 weeks. This provides interim
cover to assist with Your rehabilitation in the unfortunate event a serious injury
sustained whilst on holiday stops You from working upon Your return. Please note:
We will not pay for the first 4 consecutive weeks after You planned to resume Your
job.

Cancellation coverage begins on the date Your certificate of insurance is issued.
Cover for all other sections begins when You leave Your home or place of departure
to start Your trip and ends when You return home or until the end of the period
of insurance shown as the return date on the policy certificate, whichever is sooner.

There is a policy exclusion for claims arising from any business commitment, financial
or contractual obligation, including those of any Travelling Companion or Relative,
except for Your being retrenched from Your usual full time employment in Australia.
You may still be covered for other events that give rise to a claim whilst on a
business trip.

Yes! You can still add Tiger Purrtection Travel Insurance to your itinerary even
if you have a Pre-Existing Medical Condition. However, your policy does not provide
any cover for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. For details refer to the policy wording.

After Buying Your Tiger Purrtection Policy

If you did not receive your Tiger Purrtection Travel Insurance Certificate, you should notify us of your Policy Number (if available), Full Name, Flight Booking Number, Travel Dates, Date of Purchase and E-mail Address by

You may return the Policy to us within 14 days of purchasing, provided that no claim
has arisen and your travel has not commenced. Chartis will cancel the policy
and give you a full refund of premium.
After 14 days we will not refund any part of the premium.

Upon receipt, the Claims Department will assess your claim and notify you accordingly.
